We are a Seattle based company currently in pre-production for a late night TV show featuring gorgeous, scantily clad women doing their thing on the runway!

Director: Stephen Sherman

Am I wrong to like the raccoon with the wristwatch and the bazooka? (Or is it a dart gun?)

Classic RPB badart is often amusing. Just don't play racoon in synnabar, he doesn't get enough 10ths damage reduction and will get squished. (Ok, I'm making that up, all I remember about Synnibar is that it's rediculous and has a logrythmic damage system.)

Okay, thanks a lot Mike.

That took me on a one hour magical mystery tour that started with the game review, went through the rpgnet wiki page for the worst games ever and ended up looking a demotivational posters for bear cavalry.

Then I came to my senses. Why can I not resist this shit?

You're welcome! I certainly have more shit for you to not resist. You have to start with SA's original look at the Monster Manual.

Synnibarr was and is a trainwreck, like McCracken himself. Yet for all that, I still prefer the old "homegrown" feel of '80s and '90s RPG books over the glossy soullessness and sameness of the art and layout in today's game books. It's all so very professional and spoon-fed... subconsciously reminding the reader, "Hey, you *can't* make up your own world and you *can't* do this as well as we do. Your imagination is untrained. Your ideas suck. Buy our stuff, use our worlds, follow our metaplots, 'upgrade' to our next edition, and know that if you do your lame and shitty art and writing... well, people will laugh at you."

Come to think of it, that's true for *all* genre stuff nowadays...

Sorry. I guess I never quite got over being pissed off at Gygax and Arneson for telling me exactly what a dragon with red coloration could and could not do...

Oh you can still get that "homegrown" feel in the downloadable PDF books. I am tempted to run the "Squirrel Attack" game I downloaded as part of the Haiti relief pack. You can even play Squirrelferatu and learn Electronics! (I'm not sure I want to know what a squirrel would do with a working knowledge of electronics...)
