I was on the Disney lot yesterday, lunching with a friend, when I saw the door sign on the Pirates 2 office. It had a skull in a top hat with two canes instead of crossbones, and under it, it said "Pirates Take Manhattan!"
I think they're going to do a musical. Can Depp sing?
Also, my next movie could cost that much if I drop a Panavision camera. I could rent the camera for $1,000 a day, get up on a bridge, and drop it into the LA River. Suddenly, my movie costs a huge shload (that insurance pays).
They had a camera rigged on wires to swoop over the chocolate river. Someone didn't tie down one of the cables and the camera went sploop into the chocolate. They estimated the cost of the camera and the lost time at 500,000 pounds.
