Mythos Books just bought ten copies of the Eldritch Quintuplets. Our little book of poetry now has a distribution deal. Or something like that.

David Wynn at Mythos Books is a fine gent. He even published my first Lovecraftian poem, The Ghastlycrumb Ickies. Nevertheless, if you want a copy of the Eldritch Quintuplets, buy it from me because I get more money that way.

It's been a year since the EQ were published. All the talk on alt.horror.cthulhu about small press has been making me think about what the Elegantly Amused Press should do next. I would sort of like to publish my epic werewolf poem (200+ lines). I sent it to Mythic Delirium, and the editor liked it and asked me to send other poems his way, but "Wolfsbane" is just way too damn long.

On the other hand, I don't want Elegantly Amused Press to just be a vanity press for me and Rebecca. Maybe I should try to put together a Lovecraftian poetry collection and open up for poetry submissions. What does the peanut gallery think, assuming it cares?

Don't know squat about such ventures myself, but you might want to check out the SLF Small Press Cooperative.

Thanks for the tip

I keep a lazy eye (so to speak) on the Write Hemisphere, but that slipped past without me seeing it.

You're welcome.

Apparently, someone's been interviewing various small press publishers, if you're interested in the PoVs of those out there doing that sort of thing.

Since you asked - I'll tell you what I think.
The only Lovecraftian poetry I've come across that doesn't suck is Lovecraft's (and then only some of it) and yours. Oh, and mine of course. Are you prepared to open up the gates to the unwashed masses? Sorry if I come across as a jerk here. I'm very particular about poetry.

Reading lots of sucky poetry is indeed an inevitable result, but I might be purified by suffering. I'm pretty particular about poetry, too. No doubt plenty of submitters will think I'm a jerk for my exacting standards, but that way I may wind up with a few gems that will even live up to yours.

Holy Fuck

Sure, do a collection of poetry. The fans will eat it up, you can do it POD and I will still buy it, but PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF SANITY, DO NOT GIVE IT TO KLOB!

In fact, EA Press should be the better answer to Lindisfarne. Moo hoo ha ha.

Super congrats on the sale, BTW.

Wynn's a good chap. He donated for RTI, and I'm mercenary.
