Wow, I've been to the concrete structure up Rustic Canyon out behind Will Rogers SP. Turns out it may have been built by Nazi sympathizers, hoping to create "a self-sustaining nazi community. Old blueprints reveal plans for a huge mansion complete with a 400,000 gallon water tank and a concrete-walled power station (the latter two are intact but have been defaced by graffiti)."

Slightly more sober LA Times article with phrases like "according to the oral histories. But Young could find no other details about the event."

I was curious about the history of it, but I wasn't able to find any details. Thanks for the description.

Of course, me and my friend who I was hiking with both agreed that this would be a great place for an All Flesh Must Be Eaten LARP. :)
