I'm with sjo. I LOVE The Thin Man series. The beauty of TTM is the witty writing, the great delivery, the charm and glamor of the time, and the actors. Could Depp do Nick Charles? I think he could - he's dashing, doesn't take himself too seriously, and has the classic look. Not only can I not think of a Nora (I'm up for suggestions, however), but part of the charm will be lost if they "update" it. Will Nora have peignoir sets and always be holding a cocktail shaker? If they keep it a period noir piece, it might work.
I'm prepared to be sad, however.
