13 books nobody's read but say they have

I give myself half a point for having read Finnegans Wake (but not Ulysses), mainly so I can score a 50%.

Most ridiculous inclusion on that list... A Christmas Carol. Sure, watching Scrooged is easier, but I think plenty of people have read it. I've lost count of the number of times I've read it, out loud, to Dr. Pookie at Yuletide.

I've read one fully and varying degrees of "some" of a handful of others (as in, I have read some of the Canterbury Tales and I know the first line of several others...)

I actually have read two of them, one of them in a side-by-side Middle English / Modern English version which made the read quite enjoyable. The poetry is amazing if you can work through the vocabulary.

Sadly, I have read none of those. But I don't claim that I have, either. I've read excerpts from many of them.

I'd like to thank university for forcing me to read Moby Dick. Otherwise, I'd have been completely shut out of that list.
