Birthday Boy

Some of the crowd at Varnish for
aaronjv's birthday. Click through for a few more shots of people, and perhaps a preview of the LA Cocktail Examiner's coverage of Las Perlas (as his camera was dead). I had a good time chatting with various folks as we assorted in different combinations as we made our way from Cole's (how can a sandwich so simple be so good?) to Varnish to Las Perlas, where I treated the birthday boy to some Chinaco aƱejo that was soooo good. More dessert-y than I remember it, with strong vanilla and almost chocolate aroma. I bowed out after that, but who knows how long and far the odyssey continued?

Date: 2010-05-11 10:39 am (UTC)At least three more mezcal shots at Les Perlas, then something (cherry sour mash?) at Association, then we (I) staggered to Pete's Cafe where I may have had another cocktail (I hope not, but I think I did), and a quesadilla.
Then home.
The quesadilla and all those Cole's pies is what woke me up three hours later and left me at the toilet. But nothing happened other than sleep interrupted. I had a headache for the first five hours of my actual bday consciousness, plus my softball game sucked to high heaven, but we lost due to forfeit before I even showed up, partially my fault.
Yet it was fun, and thanks for the photos!
BTW, the Varnish cocktails weren't as...memorable...with the B-team as I had hoped. C'est la vie.
