Along the lunchwalk is a storefront that's been closed for some time, and some desultory plastering and up-fixing has been going on for ages. The revamping has been speeding up of late, and now there's a banner hanging out.

I'm torn between wondering why Westchester needs a German restaurant, and anticipation for it to open.

Oooh, if it's real German cuisine, we'll have to plan an outing! Fresno has a few Hofbraus, but the one we've tried have become so Americanized that they're really not worth eating at...

Westchester will have a German restaurant because in their collective subconscious the people of Westchester know that they *must* have a German restaurant. The German restaurant is an archetype that must ultimately be acknowledged and reconciled so that Westchester can attain its full maturity as a city, and indeed, as a kultur.
