Shortly after this insightful xkcd comic appeared, I got a notice from BookCrossing that my freed copy of Ender's Game has surfaced in San Jose, five years after I released it into the wild.

Rock on! I saw your entry in my google alerts. That's frickin awesome, and one of the new BC records. I think it got posted in Site Watch (http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/11), too. Congrats -- what an awesome feeling that must have been to get that journal alert in the mail :)

Thanks. Yes, it was really unexpected. As you can probably tell, my interest in BC waned after my initial enthusiasm a long time ago. But then that message made me feel warm and fuzzy again.
