Had a good Pa-day lunch with Dad and Lois.

Watched Performance last night. I trust that Mick Jagger was paid in plenty of drugs and sex. First half of the film is sort of Lock/Stock-esque, second half is largely a drug-fueled incomprehensible wankfest. But lots of tits, so that's all right. INteresting, but not quite good.

You know, the first time I saw Performance, I felt similarly. I even nodded off in parts of it. Then years later it was showing late at night at the Nuart and I went to see it again. I think I dragged Cheryl along. I'm pretty sure she fell asleep. But it was weird - the second time seeing it had way more impact. I felt like something clicked and I was suddenly in tune with every detail. It was fascinating beyond the obvious upper layer of incomprehensibility and boobage, just watching Chas's transformation. Can't guarantee that anyone else would experience the same sort of epiphany on second viewing, but I definitely love the movie now.

I can certainly see your point. I didn't hate Performance, and it was one of the few movies I've seen recently that I thought actually worth mentioning here, but I can't say I love it.
