And here I thought we were the only people to name our plants! We have Clive, the clinging vine, Lucifer, the snake plant, and Eve the dwarf peace lily.
Besides Newton the ficus, we have Nopalito the cactus, and he used to have a little sister Impatience (Impatiens), but she was too delicate for our backyard. Ours are outdoor plants, so the naming is a kind of random thing. Some plants get named, some don't. Not sure why.
I only had Bob the (almost) Immortal Spotted Plant. He outlived falling out of his pot and having his soil spread freely across Scott's trunk. He fed on guilt.
