The Radium Terrors, by Albert Dorrington

This is a bad book. Serialized by Argosy starting in 1910, published in this volume in 1912. As much as I appreciate an early appearance of radioactivity in popular fiction, its treatment is ludicrous. As much as I appreciate an early appearance of the wicked Asian criminal mastermind in popular fiction, its treatment is awful. An ending with multiple tissue-thin love matches.

I will rid myself of this book. Do not accept it from me.

Wear and Tear

Back in December 2007, we started our streak of grilling once per calendar month. In the fine weather months (eleven-twelfths of the year, hereabouts) we generally average a lot better than once per month. That's put a lot of wear and tear on the grill. To wit, we oxidized our way through the coal grate.
