Car Xmasolstizaanakah Rose Bowl Swap Meet
Dec. 14th, 2005 02:27 pmMy car has once again risen from the dead. Once again covered by warranty, though I'm out of pocket a bit on the rental car, and I had 'em put a new tire on it since they found a nail in one. It took forever to get the paperwork sorted out, but it's back in my possession and it didn't fly to pieces on the drive back to work.
Saturday was Craig & Jaime's holiday party and I had a good time. We've hung out with them enough that certain of their friends' faces now have names attached to them in my mind, which makes hanging out much easier. There was a random gift exchange with stealing etc., which was fun, except that after the prezzie I had was stolen from me, I lamely stole my own gift from Craig, since I didn't like the other things that were then available. But after buying it, it preyed on my mind too much to let someone else have it. Rebecca came back with some liqueur filled chocolates that she suspects were regifted from times of yore.
Sunday,
jason_brez and I went to the Rose Bowl Swap Meet. It was an amazingly beautiful day... almost worth waking up that early on a Sunday morning to see it. The Swap Meet was a bit bigger than usual with the holiday crowd and many of the vendors had some better than usual stuff to show off. But, as usual, I was there more to window-shop than anything else. I'm still on the lookout for a few specific things and none of them were there. But I did wind up with Shag's catalogue raisonne.

Date: 2005-12-15 05:32 pm (UTC)Such fun! If you are ever interested, let's do it togetther some time. Eleanor is quite the bargain hunter (after all, she has two little antique stalls in Orange County that turn (barely) a profit.

Date: 2005-12-16 11:29 am (UTC)As compared to the usual "day of fun" with dad when I was a kid: wandering the San Jose Flea Market as he looked at stuff for hours that I didn't care about, and I pretended to be interested in stuff to make him happy. I also never had money to buy anything, and if I borrowed money from dad, we wouldn't eat lunch.
But now that I have a Sugar Mommy to buy me things, let's go!
Can you drink alcohol there?

Date: 2005-12-21 07:48 pm (UTC)I don't think so. Anyway, the place opens at 9AM, which is a bit early to start drinking even for me. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
