The bug is even worse than you may think. We got not just the DDR pad, but the whole PS2 system. Thinking back, this is my first game system since the Atari 2600.
Where are all the blocks and squares!? I can make no sense of the 'lifelike' images on the screen.

i've screwed my pad down to 5/8" MDF, it helps a lot with the sliding around business. i highly recommend it.

MDF??? And if you're screwing your pad, where do you, uh, screw it? I mean, how do you know there aren't wires and stuff? (Being a girl, I kinda think anything you screw should already have a hole there, you know?)

medium density fiberboard

you lay the DDR pad on the fiberboard, then drive 1/4" screws in around the perimeter. lots of them, so that the pad can't bunch up when you use it. make sure the pad is pulled as tight as possible as you screw it into the MDF. near the edge there's no wires.
