with Kirk Cameron, distributing his modified version of On the Origin of Species. But it was probably not a good plan to pick the same day the Regents were meeting on campus to raise fees by 32%.

I have a need to punch Kirk Cameron in the balls.

So which version was he giving away, the full version or the abridged version in which he removed Darwin's introduction and four other chapters, including some of Darwin's strongest evidence for evolution (at least according to the executive director of the National Center for Science Education)?

From Comfort's web site:

Please Note: When laying out the book for the first print (30,000 copies), we found that it was over 400 pages and was too expensive to be a free book. We therefore randomly removed four chapters and Darwin's Introduction, saying within the book that they could be freely downloaded at www.originextra.com But for the second print (175,000 copies) we dropped the text-size, and that reduced the entire book to 304 pages, making it affordable as a giveaway.

Yeah, after everyone in the universe complained about his underhanded "random" chapter cutting.

As Bugs Bunny says, "What a maroon!"

Did you know that everything in Comfort's special 50-page introduction (you can read it on his site) that isn't proselytizing is plagiarism? The first section, The History of Charles Darwin, lifts major passages from "A Brief History of Charles Darwin" by Dr. Stan Guffey. The second section, Timeline of Darwin's Life, is virtually identical (word for word but for some omissions) to a January 2009 "Timeline of Charles Darwin's life" promulgated by the National History Museum in London.

I did! You know why? Because I waste more time on the Internet than you do. :)

Actually, to be more accurate, I waste more time reading Pharygula than you do. ;)

I don't think that's physically possible.
