Well, no $80K, but I managed to exactly double my money at poker. There were no big winners, I think. Andy, Kevin and I profited roughly equally from Ian and Colleen's losses. I think Andy must have come out the furthest ahead.

In other news, Aaron & Kirsten's cat is a big fluffy loverboy. He purrs pretty damn audibly and happily whores himself for attention. At least until I fed him, when he suddenly devoted his attention to his bowl. I can't resist pronouncing his name, Spike, just as Jet does in Cowboy Bebop.

yeah

We got $80,000 lying around (a little more, actually), but what we DON'T have is the ability to pay a monthly housing bill over say, $1200. Not without giving up, say, food.

Friend of mine said she's going to buy a duplex, and then collect rent to help pay mortage. Does that work?

Thanks for Spike watch, BTW.

He does get affectionate...when he wants to eat, and when we're trying to sleep. And he sleeps on his back with his legs akimbo, like a centerfold, with each one of his half dozen nipples poking out for the whole world to see. But he has no balls, so I don't know what drives him to it. Damn cat.

Yeah, buying/renting a duplex is one way to go. You just have to avoid becoming a slumlord.
