At the moment (with 22.4% reporting), Californians prefer chickens over veterans over victims over gay people.

Unfortunately, gay people are currently so far down on the list that Californians unprefer them.

ETA: at 35% reporting, support for prop 8 has slimmed down a couple points to 52.7%, but it seems to be fluttering there stably. Chickens still have a narrow lead over veterans.

I pretty much want to still kick a bunch of people in the shins.

This makes me sad...and too tired to be clever about my sadness.

I have the sudden urge to read a Charles Willeford novel now.

At least the parental notification law got shot down again, so California appears adverse to the idea of young women getting the crap beat out of them by their parents after the condom breaks.

I'm glad so many gay couples were able to marry before the ban went into effect, though.

The difference between yes and no in LA County was one percent or less. The wrong way, but it was close.

Apparently, large percentages of blacks and Latinos think homosexuality is wrong, and they turned out in record numbers for this election.

History moves slowly. First black rights, then women's rights, then homosexual's rights. It's not over, it's a setback.

yeah, i realized this, but its so disappointing to think that those who were persecuted, would turn around and do the same. i mean... yeah, its been done for eons, but cmon! its frustrating. :\

Alas, that's how human nature works.

When the shit hits you, you want to be sure you can roll it further downhill. That's why those that were abused or bullied so often are the abusers and bullies.
