Plus, logging in someone seems to generate more. I'm not sure why.
The list of users, when you're in "Browse" mode, is sorted by their last login.
I feel your pain about this; MySpace is my only link to a lot of college friends (I try to redirect them all to my livejournal, but they're stubborn) so I bop by every week or so to see who's found me, and there are always two or three messages from spam accounts, and usually some profiles have already been deleted by the time I get the message.
I'm just glad I turned off email notifications, they were driving me batshit. :)
