Can you believe it? These gay people. Wanted their photographs taken. In a public place (albeit privately owned).

Where will it all end? If we let gay people have that special right, why there'd be nothing stopping them from forcing all straight people to peg wombats at daycare centers!

Fortunately, "It is legal to discriminate against people because of their sexual orientation here in Richmond [KY]".

Did the up and back trip to San Francisco yesterday. Mostly smooth sailing, although my flight was late leaving SF because the lav in first class was broken. All of us in steerage broke out our tiniest violins for the first class passengers on this 50 minute flight.

Had lunch at John's. Here's me with a post-1906 earthquake newspaper over my shoulder. Kind of sinister really. That's the fearsome sight my club sandwich faced - a looming bearded omnivore.

However, I did do my one kind deed there. the lady at the table opposite wanted change so she could leave a tip, but the restaurant (somehow) didn't have any. I tried to surreptitiously make change for her, but I was spotted... the waitress left me a nice little note on my check. Drat! Good deeds that go unobserved count double!

Perhaps the most interesting technology at the tradeshow was this. What happens to your wind power turbine when there's no wind? No power of course! But that can be fixed if you simply hook up a solar panel to it, to keep it turning on calm days!

I know what you're thinking. What happens if the wind is calm... at night? Clearly you just hook the turbine up to a floodlight to shine on the solar cell.
