Not a bad estate sale up in the Palisades near Sunset/Temescal. Books going for next to nothing, and lots of them. I'm starting to regret passing over the 1950s Willy Ley space travel book for kids. The science fiction was mostly banished to the ghetto of the garage. glasses/china up the wazoo. And if you have a Snoopy collector in your life, this is the place to go. I saw that the wife was a UCLA librarian for 26 years. The husband had science and medical books, and was more than a little fond of anatomy of the female persuasion. Who knew that Beldar had been on the cover of Playboy? I picked up a Vargas artbook, some Roald Dahl, Steven Jay Gould, and a couple other old pbks. For $3. I was tempted by the 'Mayan' sculpture, but it was made for the tourist trade, but had a fine art price tag on it.
