Electric Manacles. Even Tarzan Couldn't Break Them!

Nifty little Newsweek article on Lily Renee, an early female comic book artist. Fled Austria in 1939, and in a few years, she was in New York drawing (among other things) Señorita Rio, an American agent posing as a Brazilian entertainer in order to track down Nazis throughout Latin America. As was the fashion at the time.
