Maltese Falcon Stolen!

Someone has lifted the black bird (Note: article contains spoilers!) from John's Grill, a restaurant where, in the book, Sam Spade eats some lambchops. Dash Hammett was a regular there. The thieves also swiped some nice first editions of the book.

A $25K reward is offered, but have you any conception of how much money can be got for that black bird? Well, sir, if I told you - if I told you half, you'd call me a liar.

I first ate at John's Grill five years ago, and it's a great place.
