We are a Pillar

Democracy in Inglewood - We got a huge card in the mail from our Assemblyman. I mean huge. It's 11x14. The front has the State Assembly seal. Inside, with appropriate gold inks and foil seals is the following message:

Certificate of Recognition
Whereas dark_of_night and essentialsaltes are a pillar in the community and have consistently engaged in the democratic process in the furtherance of democracy, equal rights and the enhancement of the quality of life for the residents of our community and state; and

Whereas dark_of_night and essentialsaltes exemplify the belief that people can make a difference through their civic participation in the solution blah-dy-blah-bla-bla; and

Now Therefore Be It Resolved that the California State Legislature Fifty First Assembly District hereby recognize the dedicated community leadership and service of dark_of_night and essentialsaltes as Citizens of the Year in 2006 wherein this recognition shall be preserved in the records of the State of California now and forever more.

Let's hear it for the franking privilege!
Wow, let's review the awards for 2006: a Larpy, the MT Hipness Through Erudition Award, and now Citizen of the Year! I'm blushing, I tell you. The mantelpiece is getting full (or it would be if we had one).
