The Wired article on the 'New Atheists' seems to be getting retreaded here and there in journalism land. I'm still hoping the useless neologism dies an early death. I wouldn't mind "Hot Atheist," which Rolling Stone apparently applied to Sam Harris.

As for not-so-old atheists, there's Phil Paulson, who died at 59. He's the Vietnam Vet who had been fighting for 17 years to get the cross taken down in San Diego. Although he finally won, the case is still under appeal, and there's the parallel shenanigans of the city giving the land to the federal government to try to do an end-run around the court ruling. I hope his death won't make the courts decide that the issue is now moot.
