It's pretty neat. Free accounts have an upload limit per month, which bites, but everything else about the site seems to be pretty fast and smooth. Users can 'tag' their photos with keywords, and everyone can search for public photos using them. F'rinstance, searching "HPL" got me an album of production photos from the Italian film of Lovecraft's "Shunned House". You can even put little labelled boxes on photos, so you can say who's who in the photo. The user search stinks though. Searching "Joe Blow" gives you all Joes and all Blows. They seem to have gone to a lot of trouble to give flickr all the social networking type functions of friendster or myspace, so you have contacts and groups, etc. I haven't played with any of that stuff.
Well
