The "joy" of this is that she got elected. American citizens voted for her. More for her than her opponent.

Remember, more than half the nation voted for Bush the second round.

Not elected yet, just chosen as the Republican nominee. I'm pretty hopeful that in the general election, she's not going to attract a lot of Dems and independents to her side.

The general consensus, in fact, is that she's just torpedoed what was a considered a sure Republican pickup (Mike Castle, the guy she just beat, was thought to be a sure thing) and handed the Democrats a Senate seat.
