Update on the Canadian Science & Technology Minister - Still Ignorant

Tipped off by Prime, I learned that the Minister has amplified his statements by saying that "Of course I [believe in evolution]." Unfortunately, it is not at all clear that he actually understands what the theory of evolution is:

“We are evolving every year, every decade. That's a fact, whether it is to the intensity of the sun, whether it is to, as a chiropractor, walking on cement versus anything else, whether it is running shoes or high heels, of course we are evolving to our environment. But that's not relevant and that is why I refused to answer the question. The interview was about our science and tech strategy, which is strong.”

I'm not sure where to begin. See, if you walk in high heels, your feet will hurt, and then your children will be born with aching feet. Fortunately, spinal manipulation can make your children's feet feel better.

Well, it is A theory of evolution. Is it possible Mr. Goodyear got his degree in Soviet Russia?

Those Canadians are awfully liberal, so Lysenkoism is not impossible. But even that gives him more credit than he deserves, since it's unclear whether he even acknowledges the importance of inheritance. He seems to stop at acquired characteristics.
