Small town Wisconsin, how I miss thee... Local editor says she won't take ads or information from the Freedom from Religion Foundation.

The comparisons to Nazis, the Klan and al Qaeda I can handle, but Ayn Rand-ites? That's just low.

I suppose I could respond by burning a cross on her lawn, or annexing the Sudetenland, but instead I give you this.

Sadly, as a private editor with a private newspaper, I have to say I respect her right to be a moron.

The challenge is, in an era of media consolidation, how do you start up a competing newspaper that is willing to present all sides fairly? I'm inclined to think that writing to her, as the link you post suggests, would be a futile waste of time given her obvious prejudices. But writing to whoever owns her newspaper demanding her removal may be worthwhile, particularly coming from people who reside in the newspaper's circulation area...
