Larpies

I FUCKING WON!

Enigma kicked ass and WetMaynard got forcibly ejected from the event. Best. Awards Show. Evar! I can't even tell if I'm being sarcastic.
Best Monster: Me, for my brilliant ability to be inside the awesome costume made by Andrew Leman.
Best Humorous Scene: the Bowmans for Scooby Doo Cthulhu
Best Make-Up: Colleenky
Best Action Scene: Kev M.

We are the champions, no time for losers!

More later.

You are the champion.

I hear you scored green room booze.

Congrats. :)

Congratulations!

That's awesome; it even sounds as though the event was legitimately enjoyable, and not just in a schadenfreude-y sort of way.

I cannot WAIT for the full report.

I'm not sure it would have been nearly as enjoyable if we'd taken it seriously. But if you allowed yourself to suspend your criticality and just become immersed in the absurdity of the event, then it was absolutely wonderful. I ran around rubbing elbows with professional photographers feeling no shame at my tiny digital camera. I took bad pictures with the zeal of a prepubescent fanboy. I exchanged man-nods with Bill Goldberg and took a shot with "wonderwoman."
I think one of the most amusing parts was watching the actresses try not to cry when they realized how silly this event really was.
The hostess, though, was really top-notch and professional. She delivered all of her lines with actual emotion and really seemed to enjoy herself.

In other words the porn star-turned-hostess didn't feel out of place strutting her stuff in front a bunch of testosterone-toting, boffer-wielding geeks who have probably seen her a million times already at home? Imagine that.

Out of curiousity...how many people were in attendance?

Wish I coulda been there. Dang, first time I've been jealous of LA residents in quite some time.
