spinach + egg + cheese = yum
Friday night, we took toys to Kev's. Saw Aaron and Kirsten there for a bit.
Saturday night was another shindig. Saw Aaron and Kirsten there for a bit.
Sunday was brunch at our place. Saw Aaron and Kirsten there for a bit.
Brunch was fun, and in some strange synchronicity, the same weekend that we were enjoying Rebecca's spinach-y egg-y cheese-y strata, some of our neighbors to the north were enjoying Warren's spinach-y egg-y cheese-y fritada, which I may have had a long-distance hand in creating.
Anyway, we and A&K and Craig and Jaime got along splendidly, lubricated by midmorning mimosas. It's strange to think that of the five other people at brunch, I will soon have married all of them.
Other brief notes: We got a Christmas tree and decked it out in ornamental finery. We watched the Muppet Christmas Carol. Richard, since he will likely never have a chance to do this to his own highly hypothetical children, forbade me from wedding Rebecca. I even managed to churn out a few holiday cards.

if only it didn't cost $26 in ingredients!
Weird!
(Anonymous) 2004-12-13 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)If I remember it, it's:
spinach (frozen, about $1)
cottage cheese ($2 maybe--I always use this instead of the other fancy-shmanzy cheese also mentioned in the recipe)
eggs ($1)
parmesan $3 (okay, parmesan is expensive!)
cheddar $3
bread crumbs - negligible, if you have stale bread heels in the freezer, as I usually do.
So I'd guess $10, max, for a maindish that feeds 6 (at least) Am I forgetting the truffles or caviare or something? For 26 bucks, you should also be able to squeeze in a salad, a loaf of bread, and a bottle of wine!
Re: Weird!
I also bought bread crumbs because I didn't have any spare bread to use.
