dark_of_night wins for being the only person out of 26 to choose Juliet. It was indeed the choice chosen by the fewest person.

9 people, more than a third of the sample, thought that Mike would be the least picked response. It was the most popular choice for least popular answer.

Paradoxically(?), Mike was the option that was most picked by those attempting to pick the most picked answer. Kudos to: me, zorker, hagdirt, postgoodism, ladyeuthanasia, dustchick, bellwethr, collenky, jsadler, and karteblanche. I will note that dustchick, collenky and jsadler were clearly hedging their bets by choosing Mike for both options. Either that, or they just like choosing me. Or my name, anyway.

Victor was the least popular most popular choice, with two votes.

the reason I was curious, by the way, very much has real-world implication. At work, I pick which network--1 through 6--to sign into. If I choose the "most picked" network, I get an incredibly slow and bogged down connection. If I choose the "Juliet" of the group, everything goes faster.

Probably this should go through iterations, then. Surely your coworkers are also relying on past performance and experience. The steady-state solution (if humans were Vulcans) should be equal usage, so I recommend a random number generator.

Now that I understand what Prime was trying to do, I should've just gone with A B C D E, but for whatever reason, I wanted to add something that people could grab onto and spin their mental wheels on. I started with Alpha Bravo Charlie... but then went to just the ones that were names. One of those happened to be Mike, and that provided yet another something for brains to grab onto. So... you're kinda right.

I was trying to base my choices on my half-remembered stuff of the psychology of surveys. People often choose the "middle" option on a lot of forced-choice surveys when they have no real opinion, so I figured "Mike" would be the most popular.

(At least I could've sworn that was the one I picked, although you didn't list me among the winners. Thrill as I re-write reality!)
